In series production, the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory is a well-made motorcycle.
However, the series suspension is not as sophisticated in some aspects as one might wish. Hard impacts and bumps in the road are passed on to the rider in a targeted manner.
Among other things, this is due to the overdamped suspension strut. This has been corrected in the Wilbers solution and the negative spring travel has also been adjusted.
The fork with its linear 9.5N/mm springs is clearly too stiff for road use and thus unnecessarily takes away ride comfort.
For road use, we provide progressive fork springs with 8.5N/mm to 10N/mm and a clearly adapted air chamber, which, however, also offers sufficient reserves for occasional use on the racetrack.
For focused race track use, we recommend our 642 S Competition shock, linear fork springs with 10N/mm and our high-quality “GP5 new racing formula” fork oil.
You get 5 years warranty on the 642 S Competition strut. Furthermore, our ABE makes an entry in the vehicle documents unnecessary.
