Originally, the Harley Davidson Nighster RH975 had linear fork springs. These have been replaced by Wilbers with progressive springs, which gives a much better initial response and more reserve in the second spring rate.
The rear shocks are slightly underdamped, which makes it feel like you are riding solely on the spring.
This makes the handling very “spongy” and “imprecise”. The Wilbers solution solves this problem.
In the series, linear springs are also mounted on the suspension struts. With our suspension struts we use progressive springs with a matching block value. This has the same positive effect as the fork springs.
In combination with optimised rebound and compression damping, the result is a significant gain in comfort. The vehicle rides much safer and more stable with the Wilbers conversion.
With the same seat height, we were able to increase the suspension travel from 76mm to 82mm. With the 10mm increase in height, the travel was even increased to 93mm!
After a facelift our shock absorber type 632 now carries its compression tank on a high-quality milled aluminum part. New is the “blow-off” compression valve which consists of a combination of high- and lowspeed valve. Thus the shock absorber is much more compact and even more individually useable. With a setup range of 22 clicks it offers you an adjustment as easy as exact – no matter if you prefer a sportive or comfortable ride. The continuously adjustable spring preload as well as the rebound damping adjustment in 22 clicks is, as usual, standard for this shock absorber. Furthermore radial piston technology and a wet run guidance provide for most sensitive response behavior and maximum longevity.
